Hereby, we invite you to participate in the 1st Small Wind Energy Forum - The prospects for development by 2020, which will take place in Warsaw, March 23th, 2011 during the 3rd CENERG – Clean Energy Trade Show

The Forum is the only meeting in Poland, fully dedicated to the problems of Polish small wind energy sector. The seminar is mainly addressed to entrepreneurs who are directly involved in the production, distribution, installation or service of small wind turbines and their components. The event is also addressed to all potential investors, who perceive small wind turbines as a way to reduce the cost of their energy consumption and consider investment in a near future. Besides, the programme of the Forum is also dedicated to banks, for which wind turbines may become an attractive subject of funding.

The purpose of the Forum aims to show the participants that small wind energy market exists and continuously develops (in certain niches so far), in spite of unfavorable legislative and economic conditions. The inauguration of the forum is even more justified, as in the recently approved National Renewable Action Plan of Poland the energy from small wind turbines was included in total energy balance – capacity of 550MW installations of small wind turbines will be installed by 2020, which states more than 100.000 single turbines. Therefore the conference is the first step towards strengthening the growing small wind energy sector as well as conferring it on appropriate importance, also by determining its role in the implementation of Directive  2009/28/EC on the promotion of renewable energy sources and the National Renewable Energy Action Plan.

The programme of the conference provides the presentation of current status and prospects for development of small wind energy sector in Poland by 2020. Additionally the possibilities to grid connection, legislative and financial issues as well as support systems will be presented. Exhibition of wind turbines and equipment during the trade show with the presentations of users and suppliers of wind turbines will provide a good opportunity to exchange the experiences.

It is the first edition of the conference, but with an intention to create the association for effective cooperation with entrepreneurs of small wind energy sector, so that the event would be continued in following years. The Forum is created on the basis of already acquired experience during the organization of the Solar Energy Industry Forum and the Association of Manufacturers and Installers of Solar Energy Systems - Solar Alliance 20x2020. In May, 2010 was held the third edition of that Forum and aroused a significant interest (approx. 200 participants). In the effect of a collaboration with the Solar Alliance "The vision of the solar thermal energy development in Poland, with the Action Plan by 2020 [PL version]" was prepared by the Institute for Renewable Energy, as a substantial contribution to the National Renewable Action Plan prepared by the Ministry of Economy. Report presents the status and prospects for development of solar thermal energy sector in Poland as well as potential and prognosis of the solar energy use by 2020. Additionally the report contains the agreed proposals of the programme for development of solar thermal energy and the new support system. The similar approach the Institute for Renewable Energy take in relation to small wind energy sector.
